Solar Ash is a 2021 science fiction platform adventure 3D video game set in the Hyper Light Universe, the universe of Hyper Light Drifter, and is developed by Heart Machine. It was released on December 2, 2021 on the Epic Games Store for Windows PC and on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. While the game takes place in the Hyper Light universe, it is not set in the World of Light but instead in a location far from the planet, possibly an entire star system or more apart from it, inside of a giant black hole known as "the Ultravoid". Its lore really doesn’t have anything in common either with Hyper Light Drifter's aside from both having anthropomorphic animal alien species. Both have a similar graphical design style with the major difference being Solar Ash is 3D rather than pixel art and can therefore show more detail.
Solar Ash is the second of three games set in the Hyper Light Universe, the third being the upcoming Hyper Light Breaker.
