The Central Town serves as a hub for the Drifter and various NPCs, including Shopkeepers.

History[]

HubWorldMarket

The original Central Town concept.

The Central Town is home to many shops and stalls, both interactable and not, along with NPCs that you save along your journey. Also within Central Town lies the entrance to the Abyss, which is vital for the story.

The monument within Central Town is unlocked via the four pillars in each section of the map: Lake, Barren Hills, Crystal Forest and Mountains.

Once each pillar has been activated, the monument allows access to Abyss.

Lore and Story Analysis[]

The Central Town or Central Zone, that we found ourselves in, houses the Power Core.

Likely it was designed to be "The City of the Future" where all species would live in harmony as immortals. Sadly this was not the case: Judgement ruined this plan.

The city was ruined by the explosion and the Titan Wars that followed. Many centuries passed and travelers began to make temporary homes, as this was the only "safe" place to rest for miles around. Slowly a small community built up, including shops and an underground fighting arena. No one was the wiser about the Immortal Cell underneath.

The presence of the Drunk, another blue-skinned humanoid, leads to further speculation about the townsfolk and the blue-skinned species.

These days, he sits on the east of Town, and when you speak to him he tells of how the villagers beat him and left him for dead. It is believed that this is because they have some knowledge of what the blue-skinned species did in the past, during the War with the Raccoon people.

Maybe this is the reason why the Drifter covers his face, perhaps the villagers don't beat the Drifter because he is a skilled warrior. Or perhaps they don't because he was saved by the Guardian, the one they respect. Maybe it's a mixture of all of the above.
